Lambert was a Lou Groza Award finalist in 2014. The award goes to the nation's best kicker. In 2015, he was 21-28 on field goals and 53-54 on extra points. He's currently serving a spring practice suspension along with three other players though WVU coach Dana Holgorsen had said that he expected Lambert, wide receiver Jovon Durante and defensive end Larry Jefferson back for the summer.

Lambert, set to be a senior in 2016, had 135 points in 2014 and was 30-39 on field goal attempts. Mike Molina was listed as his backup in 2015 and could become the team's starting kicker in Lambert's absence.
